Ayaka Notake is a Japanese-born intimate apparel designer with over 15 years of experience shaping the fashion landscape in New York City and beyond.

Her passion for lingerie began at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she specialized in intimate apparel for her BFA. Shortly after graduation, she was recruited by Victoria’s Secret as an assistant designer, gaining invaluable insight at one of the world’s most influential lingerie brands.

In 2012, Ayaka became the first hire and head lingerie designer at Fleur du Mal, where she helped define a new category of attainable luxury lingerie. Her role expanded to encompass swimwear, loungewear, and ready-to-wear, contributing to the brand’s evolution and recognition. Her designs have been featured in leading publications including Vogue, The New York Times, Elle, GQ, and CR Fashion Book.

Since 2019, Ayaka has shifted her focus to consulting, collaborating with Japanese lingerie brands while residing in Japan. She is now based in Barcelona, working internationally as a design consultant for lingerie, swim, and ready-to-wear labels.
